Hi again Julie, no where do we state that these books are suitable for a 5 year old to read. However, a lot of research has found the benefit of reading TO children – to inspire more love for books/reading and help them learn new words through listening. May we suggest this excellent range of books, at an amazing price be used for this purpose for now.
